Special circumstances due to Corona need special offers in Sri Lanka

Since March 2020, everything seems to be different. We remember being prepared for a beautiful start to the season in April. Guests were happy, and the pool was about to finish. Then, the curfew started and the boarders were closed. Even though we finally finished the pool in June, not all things got back to normal.

After a summer with long term stays, world travelers being ‘stuck’ in Arugam Bay, and new friendships being made at Stay Golden, winter is different. It’s currently quiet in Arugam Bay. People moved to the South Coast to enjoy the surf. And restrictions are in place that prevent local tourism and traveling between the districts. New Corona cases don’t make anyone’s life easier.

Our vision for Stay Golden in times of Corona

As long as the boarder is closed, we still adapt our offer at Stay Golden. You might not be able to book online. We have blocked the calendar to keep up with new regulations and to be more flexible.

  • Please note that they correspond to room rent per night in LKR.
  • The Stay Golden website prices are around 15% cheaper than on Airbnb or Booking.com.

The Stay Golden Restaurant

We have currently closed the Stay Golden Restaurant. If you confirm a booking with Rihan, you can also discuss your needs of eating with us. We can flexibly adapt and open the restaurant for your needs.

When the airport is back open again, we will go back to our typical restaurant opening hours, which are 8.00 AM to 3.00 PM and 6.00 PM to 10.00 PM daily.

  • What about surfing?
    From November to March, surfing conditions are complex in Arugam Bay. The sea is rough and waves are unpredictable. You can find more about the best time for surfing in Arugam Bay and other information here.
  • Do you still run yoga classes?
    Currently, we do not run yoga classes. You can contact us for a private class, though. Meanwhile, our yoga shala is available for your own practice any time, too.
  • Is there a community kitchen?
    Sorry, but we don’t have a community kitchen for our guests to use. All cabanas come with a small fridge.
